Language Apps

Mastering Portuguese takes a lot of effort, but here’s the best advice: totally immerse yourself in it! Listen to Portuguese music, watch Portuguese TV, and try to understand as much as you can. Below is a list of tools to help you:

Apps/Sites

Lingoclip – This app allows you to listen to Portuguese music and learn at the same time. Be careful to select Portugal songs and not Brazilian

People generally appreciate Memrise for its engaging, gamified approach to language learning, but some find the app’s recent changes and focus on paid content disappointing.

Mondly is a popular language learning app that most people find fun and effective, especially for beginners. It has game-like lessons and interactive features that make learning engaging.

“Practice Portuguese” is a hit among learners! People love how it makes learning European Portuguese easy and fun. They also have You Tube videos & Podcasts. My favorite!

Super Fluent – Another great app that allows you to really practice listening and speaking in real life scenarios.

Tobo – This app is great for just building your vocabulary. It also has a really cool feature to teach you whether a noun is preceded by “a” or “o” (feminine or masculine).

Conjuguemos – This is a website that helps you memorize/learn your verbs and conjugations. This is my favorite site to practice my verbs. There are a few other options to choose by clicking on “Find Sets” in the upper right corner of the page.

Sporcle – This is actually a quiz website that has quizzes for multiple topics across multiple countries. However, I use this site for its free verb quiz. It doesn’t train on conjugations, it simply allows you to quiz yourself on the top 100 verbs & their definitions.
